ITALIAN VOLPINO

He is a small-size dog and he has always been working to earn his living! In the past he was used as a guardian in the farms, where he often, with his loud barking, woke up the mighty mastiff, which then intervened against the ill-intentioned person, or he was also used as a help for sheepdogs, performing just the same role of warning. It was also famous because he had the duty to help carters, because he accompanied them in their journeys, and during their repeated stops at inns, he carefully watched their carts. Italian Volpino has a strong temper that sometimes leads him to challenge adversary bigger than him; at the same time, he can express an incomparable sweetness in his relation with his owner, for whom he has an absolute devotion. The colour of his hair is wholly white (the red variety is almost completely extinguished), and it is long and rustic so that it keeps naturally clean. The top height established by the standard  is 30cm for the males and 28cm for the females. This breed is very good for agility.
