Monte Frondoso Kennel was born at the beginning of 1980’s and it can make use of an experience matured in the course of time and with several breeds used for guardianship and defence ( (Dobermann, German Shepherd, Argentinean Dogo, Rottweiler, Riesenschnauzer, Malinois). Following the natural curiosity to know dogs’ world in a deeper way, the interest of our Kennel has afterwards turned to more “natural” breeds, that have been able to keep their features unchanged, thanks to a very limited human intervention. Among these ones, without looking for varieties far from our European reality, we started contacts with Balkan countries in order to get a wider knowledge Yugoslav Shepherd Dog, and then we started to breed these dogs, importing some subjects from their countries of origin. At the moment, we still have very good relations with some breeders from Macedonia and Slovenia, and with some of the best kennels in France, the “western” country where Sarplaninac is wider spread and better bred. Later, as an integration to this “guardian” dog and respecting his role of incorruttible watcher, we started breeding Italian Volpino, a breed that certainly deserves a wider spreading because of its uncountable psyco-physical qualities.
